In this article we present you a diet of 7 days to combat the retention of liquids in a natural way , which will allow you to reduce volume and feel lighter and more vital.

What is fluid retention?

Fluid retention or edema can be a pathology or temporary dilation of the veins due to excess heat.

If it is pathological it can be related to circulatory, cardiac, hepatic or renal issues , which forces us to go to the doctor to make the diagnosis and treatment timely.

We can identify it because it is related to weight gain for no apparent reason, with an increase in volume or swelling in certain parts of the body, such as the waist, legs or ankles.

Although not always related to being overweight, the truth is that obesity can also lead to fluid retention .

7 day diet

This specific diet of 7 days to combat fluid retention will allow us to notice a great relief in a week, although it is advisable to incorporate good habits that we can always maintain, so that we do not suffer from edema again after this diet.

This diet is excellent for anyone as it is characterized by its purifying properties to improve the function of the kidneys and liver.

General Guidelines

Here are some general tips that will be key issues this week:

  • We will completely suppress table salt or refined our food. We will replace it with moderate amounts of sea salt, Himalayan salt or sea water.
  • We will also avoid the consumption of foods that already contain salt, such as crackers, breads, salted nuts, etc.

  • 1 pear
  • 1 slice fresh pineapple
  • ½ cucumber

  • 1 glass of oat drink (200 ml)

Preparation

We will beat the ingredients well and take it in small sips.

* If we are hungrier during the morning we can have some brown bread toast with avocado, accompanied by a green tea.

At noon

To eat we will choose from the following options:

First course

  • Gazpacho or homemade vegetable juice
  • Cream of vegetables or salad

Second course

  • Meat

In mid afternoon

At mid-afternoon we will always take an infusion of horsetail, which has diuretic and remineralizing properties. 

If we are hungry, we can snack on yogurt with nuts, a piece of fruit or something similar.

At night

For dinner we should not abuse quantities and try to have dinner as early as possible. We will choose from the following options:

First course

  •  Gazpacho or homemade vegetable juice
  • Soup
  • vegetables cream
  • Salad

Second course

  •  Fish
  • Egg
  • Avocado
  • Low-salt fresh cheese

* We can accompany them with a little bread or brown rice.

Dessert 

  • Apple
  • Pear
  • A handful of nuts
