Swimming is perhaps the most complete and enjoyable exercise, but its practice entails certain risks .

The waves, currents, depth and lack of oxygen are factors that can harm us in an environment that is not our entire domain: the aquatic.

In 2016, at least 437 people died of drowning in Spain alone. We speak of a fairly high mortality rate that affects children and adults alike.

However, the idea is not to deprive us of swimming, but to create the appropriate safety conditions to enjoy pools and beaches during this summer.

Bathing alone is not recommended

Although it may not seem like it, there are still people drowning in a pool. Two minutes may be enough for a child’s lungs to collapse through uncontrolled water entry.

For this reason parents should make sure that their children do not go unattended to the deepest part of the pools.

If we can not see the bottom from the outside there will be reasons to alarm us.
