The nasturtium is a medicinal plant that belongs to the family of ” Tropaeol├íceas” , commonly it is also known by other names like, Taco de reina, Maranuela, Flower of blood. Its scientific name is ” Tropaeolum majus” and it is recognized as an edible plant or herb.

Contains antioxidant, cardiotonic, aperitive, diuretic, expectorant, balsamic, antimicrobial properties. In addition, among its most important active ingredients we can mention the presence of vitamin C, antibacterial substances, flavonoids (found in its leaves), carotenoids (found in its flowers) and glucosinolates.
