Properties of Ayurvedic infusions

The Ayurvedic medical system is one of the oldest in the world. The name ayurveda comes from the union of two Sanskrit words; ayur , which means duration of lifeand prohibits , which means truth or knowledge. Although more than 5,000 years ago Ayurvedic medicine is being studied, beyond India and its area of influence, it is only a few years since this knowledge is being introduced in the West.

The Ayurvedic system is based on the total cleansing of the body both physically and mentally. The infusions are potent detoxifying, very useful in the cleansing of the organism, it is for that great power that plants have that Ayurvedic medicine gives as much importance to the infusions as elements of healing and regulation of the body.

If you want to know more about the composition and properties of the Ayurvedic infusions in Green Health Tips we explain it to you.

What is Ayurvedic medicine based on?

One of the fundamental bases of Ayurvedic medicine is the doshas , the three humors or vital temperaments that according to the Hindu medical tradition exist. In each person the three doshas are presented , the three temperaments, each with its particular characteristics, although usually one or two of them predominate over the others. An imbalance of doshas can lead to discomfort and even illness, so the function of Hindu medicine is to try to balance the presence of these doshas leading them to be equal proportions. The three biotypes that exist are:

  • Dosha vata : The people in whom this dosha predominatesare of thin complexion and find it easy to lose weight. They tend to be restless and suffer from disorders in the nervous system.
  • Dosha pitta : It is as easy to lose weight as it is to recover it. They are usually of accelerated metabolism and suffer from gastrointestinal and tension problems.
  • Dosha kapha : Those in which the dosha kapha predominates are usually large in complexion, prone to overweight and are generally very calm.

Ayurvedic medicine claims that it is vital to maintain a balance between the three vital elements of which we are composed, in that sense act the Ayurvedic infusions, designed to enhance or regulate the conditions of a particular dosha , reporting health benefits and avoiding future problems or diseases.
